Types Of Fish Caught off of Key West

Yellowfin Tuna. They are a rare catch off of Key West but can be a welcome surprise. Usually caught while trolling offshore.

Yellow Jack. Caught in this instance on a topwater plug. Very aggressive and hard fighting fish found from the backcountry to the reef.

Mutton Snapper. They are one of the most highly prized catches on the reef and wrecks. Average size is 5-10lbs but can get to over 20lbs.

Snook. They can be found in the backcountry of Key West during our Winter months. They are an uncommon but welcome treat.

Yellowtail Snapper. The gold standard of reef fishing. Available year-round and in high numbers. Delicious  and fun to catch.

Wahoo. These speedy critters are found from the reefline out to the open ocean offshore. Usually caught by trolling or drifting with live bait.
